Does NIS2 apply to foreign companies with Czech branches?+

Yes. Czech law 264/2025 applies to entities operating in the Czech Republic, regardless of where the parent company is headquartered. If your Czech branch operates in a regulated sector (energy, transport, healthcare, finance, ISP, public admin) and meets the size thresholds (50+ employees or 10M+ EUR turnover), you fall under NIS2. The obligation includes registering with NUKIB, implementing 13 security measures, and reporting incidents within 24 hours. We assist with the full compliance process in English.

Why FortiGate and not Palo Alto, Check Point or Sophos?+

FortiGate combines high-performance custom SPU processors with a unified Security Fabric platform. For mid-sized Czech branches, the price/performance ratio is unmatched: comparable Palo Alto models cost 2-3x more. Sophos is a good fit for very small offices, Check Point for large banks. FortiGate is the sweet spot for 50-2000 users. If you currently have a different firewall brand, we can migrate without downtime.

Do you communicate in English or Czech?+

All communication, documentation, monthly reports and support is available in English. We work with foreign companies and international teams regularly. For Czech regulatory documents (NUKIB registration, NIS2 documentation) we prepare both Czech and English versions.

What is included in the monthly fee and what is extra?+

Included in the one-off setup fee: hardware + installation + initial configuration + documentation + training of your IT contact. Included in the monthly fee: 24/7 monitoring + security updates + SLA + monthly report in English + minor configuration changes.

Extra: major architecture changes (e.g. adding a new site), forensic analysis after an incident, penetration tests, extended NIS2 audit documentation. Pricing for extras is included in the proposal.

Can we rent the hardware instead of purchasing?+

Yes - hardware rental for 36 months is available, including full hardware warranty, Fortinet licenses (UTM bundle) and a refresh at the end of the period. Suitable for companies that prefer to keep hardware off the balance sheet. After 36 months you can continue with a hardware refresh or buy out the hardware for 1 CZK.
